Polystyrene concrete is a type of lightweight concrete in which polystyrene beads are mixed into the concrete. The basic material is expanded polystyrene beads or grinds, the density of which is adjusted using water, cement and special additives. Polystyrene beads simultaneously enrich and lighten concrete, providing many beneficial properties (eg better thermal insulation, lighter weight).

The durability of metal structural members (corrosion protection with a minimum of 275 g / m² of zinc coating) is at least 50 years. Durability of polystyrene concrete components is min. 50 years.

Wedge-pivoted solid wood element for load-bearing structures according to EN 15497. Solid-dried, strength-graded and planed solid building timber, which is manufactured to the desired length by lengthening. It meets high demands in terms of cutting method, surface treatment, dimensional stability and wood moisture. Product benefits:
  • Dimensionally stable, thanks to artificial drying, with a moisture content of max. 18%, which means that minimal deformation and almost no cracking is expected when installed.
  • Its gluing (in case of longitudinal extension) is waterproof, so it can be used outdoors
  • Architectural wood protection by technical drying
  • The surfaces are planed, the edges are fuzzy

The strength class of structural wood is pine structural wood with a bending strength of 24 N / mm2

It is a wooden connection fastener of modern roof structures, which, when pressed into the wood from two sides, ensures a non-destructive connection between the bars of the wooden structures. The nailed plate is a thin 0.8-2 mm thick, high-strength galvanized steel plate, from which nails are punched and bent during production. The geometry of the nail claws makes it easier to press them into the wood, while the position of the nail pins prevents the nails from protruding from the wood.

Applied technology for fixing wooden elements with nailed joints. At our company, the double-sided pressing is made with a hydraulic press machine, the so-called C-press, at a pressure of about 150 bar. When connecting the nodes, the nail plates are placed on the wooden structures as specified in the production plan. The advantage of the technology is that the double-sided plate is pressed into the nodes at the same time, so the nailed structure remains horizontal throughout, and the wooden elements that are fastened to each other cannot move or twist.

Building materials are classified in fire protection classes (A1; A2; B; C; D; E; F) for the application of fire regulations. A1, A2 are the most favorable, F is the most unfavorable.
A1: NOT FLAMMABLE, contains only non-combustible material.
A2: Non-combustible, but also contains combustible material.
B: HARD FLAMMABLE, not completely burned in case of fire, but the substance may contribute to the spread of fire
C: MEDIUM FLAMMABLE (non-flammable materials), complete combustion occurs within 10-20 minutes after the start of the fire
D: FLAMMABLE (flammable substances), complete combustion occurs within 2-10 minutes after the start of the fire
E: FLAMMABLE, in case of fire the material burns completely within 2 minutes
F: HIGHLY FLAMMABLE, fire behavior not determined or not tested

Fire protection subclass, which indicates the classification according to smoke generation. S1 is the most favorable, s3 is the most unfavorable:
s1: no smoke generation
s2: limited smoke generation
s3: strong smoke generation

Fire protection subclass, which indicates the classification according to burning dripping. D0 is the most favorable, d2 is the most unfavorable:
d0: no dripping, no melt
d1: not dripping when burnt, there is a melt
d2: drips on burning, there is a melt and the dripping involves burning

Non-combustible material (but also containing combustible material), no smoke formation in case of fire, no melt, no dripping

The safer the building structure, the longer the fire resistance (the higher the REI number).
R- Load-bearing capacity: How many minutes the structure maintains its structural stability from the start of a fire.
E-Integrity: The property of a building structure with a separating function for how many minutes from the start of a fire it is able to withstand a fire without the fire or hot gases spreading to the side not exposed to the fire.
I- Insulation: For how many minutes from the start of a fire does the building structure not overheat to such an extent that the fire would spread to the side not exposed to the fire due to heat transfer.

The U-value, i.e. the heat transfer coefficient, is a characteristic of the thermal insulation of a surface-like structure (e.g. an external wall or a flat roof). As its unit (W / m2K) shows, it expresses the amount of heat flux (W) that passes through a unit of surface (1 / m2) of a given structure as a result of a unit temperature difference (1 / K).

Materials conduct heat to varying degrees. To characterize the degree of conduction, we use the thermal conductivity factor (λ), which is a material constant. The numerical value of the thermal conductivity gives the amount of heat that passes through the unit cross-section of a given material per unit time under the effect of a unit temperature gradient.
Unit: W / mK

A National Technical Assessment is a technical specification which, in the absence of any other technical specification for a series-produced construction product, contains the basic characteristics, levels, classes or description of the manufacturer's declaration of performance related to the intended use and specifies the system for assessment and verification of constancy.

Technical Assessment Body. From 25 October, ÉMI will carry out the European and national technical assessment of construction products, based on the appointment of the Hungarian Trade Licensing Office and the approval of the European Commission.

The European Union-wide Technical Assessment (ETA) can be issued by member organizations of the European Technical Assessment Organization (EOTA). As a full member of EOTA, ÉMI Nonprofit Kft. is entitled to issue a European Technical Assessment.

A document issued in the territory of the European Union for a specific construction product issued by a member organization of the European Organization for Technical Assessment (ÉMI). A documented assessment of the performance of the construction product in relation to its essential characteristics in accordance with the relevant European Assessment Document. A list of valid ETAs can be found on emi.eu.

Harmonized conditions for the marketing of construction products are regulated by Regulation (EU) No 305/2011 of the European Parliament and of the Council, commonly known as the Construction Products Regulation (CPR). The aim of the CPR is to simplify the legal framework applicable to construction products. The regulation lays down the conditions for the placing on the market of construction products, as well as the requirements for assessing the performance of construction products and the conditions for the use of the CE marking. Part of the CPR will apply from 24 April 2011, but the substantive part, which concerns the marketing of construction products, will only apply from 1 July 2013.

Mandatory conformity marking of certain products sold in the European Economic Area since 1993. The mark is intended to indicate that the product complies with the requirements applicable to it and can be freely marketed in the EEA internal market.

A construction product may be incorporated into a construction work if the performance of the product is certified by a declaration of performance. The declaration of performance is a document issued by the manufacturer of a construction product that authentically certifies the performance of the construction product in accordance with the technical specifications for the product. The Declaration of Performance is based on two key technical documents, the European Technical Assessment (ETA) and the National Technical Assessment.

An assessment procedure that demonstrates that specific requirements for a product have been met. Where required by directly applicable legislation, the product may only be placed on the market or placed on the market following a conformity assessment procedure. The manufacturer is obliged to carry out the conformity assessment procedure in the manner specified by law (with self-inspection within the framework of the factory production control system) or with the involvement of a designated certification body. The conformity assessment procedure is always certified by a document certifying conformity (eg certificate of conformity, manufacturer's declaration of conformity).

Neuralgic point of roof structures. Wood-destroying fungi and insects are the main biological pests of wood. Without proper chemical protection, they enter the wood structure and damage and break it down. Subsequent restoration, partial or complete replacement of the holders is extremely costly and time consuming, so it is worth preventing.

Specific heat capacity, the ratio of heat per unit mass of material to the resulting increase in temperature. That is, heat capacity refers to the reaction of a given building material to a change in temperature, the thermal inertia of the material. SIXBAU polystyrene concrete heat capacity: 1.6 + - 0.2 kJ kg -1 K-1
